It was a unique opportunity for carers to find out about the support avialable to them from a range of local and national organisations. Our Golf Day was a huge success with great weather and a fabulous golf course. We'd like to thank Stratford-on-Avon Golf Club for their support and great food! Harvington WI presented this fantastic fashion show with an exciting and creative twist! This sell out event saw models take to the catwalk in clothes available from our Hospice shops. ST LAURENCE'S CHURCH CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL

We were invited to display a Hospice Christmas Tree at St. Laurence's Church Christmas Tree Festival in Bidford. This popular annual event attracts over 1,000 visitors each year. Our tree, decorated by Trust Fundraiser, Claire Bowry, proudly displayed Hospice colours and some of our Light up a Life Stars. We are very grateful to the event organisers for their support.

A wonderful mixture of classic songs and festive favourites filled the Levi Fox Hall at King Edward VI School on Saturday 12 December. Alcester Male Voice Choir and supporting artists kindly performed to raise funds for the Hospice and over £1,100 was made on the night. LIGHT UP A LIFE

It was a dry but cold winter evening for our annual service of remembrance at The Great Gardens of New Place on Sunday 5 December. Our Hospice Chaplain, Rev'd Sharon Goble led the service during which the Christmas Tree Lights were switched on. Afterwards we all warmed up at the Town Hall with mulled wine and mince pies. We have raised over £7,000 and would like to thank everyone for their very kind and generous support. The Books of Remembrance are now available to view at the Hospice in Shottery until twelfth night.

Our Christmas Fayre at Chipping Campden Town Hall was a great day of fun for all the family. There were craft stalls and food stalls as well as Santa's grotto complete with jolly Santa and his elf! There were lots of lucky winners in our raffle too! Our thanks go to all the stall holders, volunteers and supporters who helped to make this event a success, raising £669.42, taking the total from our 3 fayres this year to £2238.78.

THE SHAKESPEARE HOSPICE BIG 10 GHOST HUNT
FRIDAY 13 NOVEMBER 2009
Most people were safe and warm in their homes on the stormy night of Friday 13th, but a group of 16 intrepid ghost hunters chose to brave the dark hours in The Falstaff Experience to raise money for The Shakespeare Hospice. The group took part in vigils in many of the haunted areas of the old house, accompanied by hosts John and Janet. There were psychic workshops with guest mediums Dave and Mark as well as opportunities to use ghost-hunting equipment. Many of these brave souls experienced some ghostly phenomena during the evening but it was worth being spooked as they expect to collect over £2,000 of sponsorship for the Hospice. Well done Ghost Hunters!

A bonfire party and firework display at the Adams's field in Pebworth raised over £1400 for the Hospice. This wonderful community event which featured competitions for the best Guy and the best soup was held in memory of Maggie Rawlins. We are very grateful to everyone involved in this special event.
