LACE BOOK BENEFITS HOSPICE
When one of the leading lights of the lace society died, members decided they wanted to make a suitable contribution to commemorate her life. Marjory Carter was a much loved patient at the Hospice’s Life Well palliative care centre and renowned for her lace making skills.
The society decided to compile the many unusual lace patterns amongst her estate into a book with some of the proceeds going towards the Shakespeare Hospice. Thank you to all at the lace society who raised £736 for the Hospice; a wonderful testament to a remarkable lady who had a great talent.

CHIEF INSPECTOR BARNABY HELPS THE HOSPICE
John Nettles, the former Shakespeare Hospice president, is a popular man. A group of fans liked Midsomer Murders, the show in which he stars as Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby, so much that they organised a themed weekend of events in appreciation.
Proceedings began appropriately with a murder mystery boat trip, followed by a quiz, a Midsomer location hunt and guest speaker associated with the programme. To mark John’s links with us, all profits have been donated to the Shakespeare Hospice.
Click here for more details about the weekend, or to find out next year’s event.
