MARCUS MILLER IN CONVERSATION WITH SIR ROY STRONG
A very successful and entertaining evening was enjoyed by an audience of over 100. Marc Miller and Sir Roy Strong traced Sir Roy’s life from the beginning in North London to the National Portrait Gallery where he became an innovative Director; onto the Victoria & Albert Museum, again as Director. His fascinating relationship with the Royal Family and what some may see as his most lasting achievement, the creation of the Laskett garden, thought to be the only major garden created in England since the 2nd world war.

CHAIRMAN & MAYOR CHEQUE PRESENTATION
Last years Chairman of the District Council (Mike Brain) and Mayor of Stratford (Roy Lodge) made a very special visit to the Hospice on Wednesday 1st August to present the care staff with an incredible £25,574.69 as a result of their fundraising efforts throughout the year. This is a first for the Hospice and they both broke the fundraising record of all their predecessors and possibly their successors?
We would like to thank Mike for his continued support
over the years and his commitment to promote the Hospice throughout the area.
Roy has been a truly incredible supporter, setting himself two 100 mile bike challenges in support of the hospice and constantly raising the profile of the work we do. We are hoping to continue his sporting challenges now that he has a little more time!

ASTON CANTLOW TREKKERS
Mark & Matt Dunsby, Andy Walker, Mike Anslow and Dick Goodman decided to follow in the footsteps of the Bard and take on The Shakespeare's Way from London back to Stratford (146 miles) and add on the extra miles to get back to Aston Cantlow!
This team have worked tremendously hard against all the terrible rain and floods, that did force them to take alternative routes, but still kept to their target of walking back into the village on Saturday 28th July.
We are thrilled with their commitment and support of the Hospice and would like to thank all five walkers for taking on the pain and injuries incurred and still arriving with smiles and energy to a very welcoming party at Aston Cantlow Club.

THE SHAKESPEARE HOSPICE 4TH ANNUAL GOLF DAY
The Hospice held our 4th Annual golf day on Friday 13th June and although it may be unlucky for some - it proved a fantastic day for the hospice raising over £12,000.
