GOLF DAY HITS THE MARK

The Shakespeare Hospice held its Fourth Annual Charity Golf Day on Friday 13th June at the Menzies Welcombe Golf Club. Although an unlucky date for some, it proved an excellent day for the Hospice as we raised over £12,000!

It was a fantastic day - with the sun shining down on all our teams - especially The Desperados who beat the other 26 teams to walk away with 1st prize and the winners trophy. Congratulations to Team Captain Andrew Burton, Andrew Morris, Steve Jones and Rob Edmonds for playing such a great game.

Everyone enjoyed the day - which started off with bacon butties followed by round of golf at the beautiful setting of the Menzies Welcombe before the teams all met up for a three course meal with prize-giving and auction. Thanks to Hospice Chair - Angela Deacon for presenting the prizes which included for very the first time the awarding of The Shakespeare Hospice Golf Day trophy to our winning team.

Well done to all our teams who took part with special mention going to 2nd Prize Winners The Ark Vets and 3rd Prize Winners The Nomads - which included Menzies Club Captain Rob Bernstein who has very generously named the hospice as his charity of the year during his captaincy and of course our good friends at ATH.

We can't thank everyone enough for taking part , for HSBC Private Bank for sponsoring the event, all our generous hole sponsors, Honda F1, Land Rover, The Cotswold Lodge and The Snooty Fox for auction prizes and the staff at The Menzies Welcombe for all their help and support.
