FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICE
Caring for a family member with a life-limiting illness can be physically tiring and emotionally stressful. Our Family Support Service offers respite care for a few hours to allow family carers the opportunity to sleep, go shopping or attend personal appointments. The service is offered by trained volunteers who can either sit with the patient, and keep them company, or simply be in the house in case help is required.
The volunteers are able to call for qualified nursing assistance if the patient's condition gives cause for concern.
Families can access the service via The Life Well or Hospice at Home teams.
