THE LIFE WELL
The Life Well at The Shakespeare Hospice offers supportive care for patients living with a diagnosis of cancer, motor neurone disease or AIDS. Our specialist nurses have oncology or palliative care experience and can offer you and your carers the time to discuss your diagnosis, the treatment options available to you and your feelings about your situation. Support is available through a conversation over the phone, or you are welcome to drop in to The Life Well and speak to a nurse in confidence. No referral is required from a GP or hospital. If your illness progresses to a point where active treatment is ceased, you also have the option of coming in to the hospice for one day a week to be supported by our day care team.
As well as taking the time to talk with you, we offer physiotherapy, occupational therapy, diversional therapy and complementary therapies to help with symptom relief and pain control. Our complementary therapists offer aromatherapy, Reiki and reflexology. Complementary therapies are also available to carers to help them cope with the stress of their situation and a confidential counselling service is available to patients and carers should they require this type of support.
Many of our patients say that they wish they had found out about us sooner, so please don't delay in calling us - we can help you and your family. Call 01789 415556.
