Counselling

Our experience has taught us that dealing with loss and illness raises many emotions and can be very disruptive to our lives and our relationships. It can be difficult to work through the feelings we have for lots of different reasons.

Counselling provides an opportunity to talk in confidence to someone who is not directly involved in your situation, someone who will give you total attention and empathy without any preconceptions and without offering advice. Sessions may be held over several weeks, but sometimes one or two sessions are enough. All counselling is done in total confidence.

The Shakespeare Hospice has a team of 5 qualified and experienced Counsellors who are available to patients and carers either attending the hospice, or living with a life-limiting illness in the community, and the bereaved.

We are grateful to the Municipal Charities of Stratford upon Avon for their grant towards our Counselling Service.

"The counselling service gave me the opportunity to be heard, to be understood, to say whatever I wanted to or needed to wihtout being judged."

"It was the turning point on the road to recovery and three years on I am still extremely grateful for your help in achieving a more positive view of life." Quotations from previous Hospice Counselling Users.
