HOSPICE FIRST PAST THE POST WITH RACE SUPPER

Everyone backed a winner at the Hospice’s race supper, held at Stratford upon Avon Racecourse on 14 August.  Despite the unpredictable weather the evening was a great success, raising over £3000 to help the Hospice continue making a real difference to the lives of our patients and their loved ones.

Guests were welcomed with a glass of Pimms and smoked salmon canapés before enjoying a summer buffet whilst watching the races.  The Hospice held a raffle and auction on the evening with some fabulous prizes donated from generous local businesses and members of the community — including two tickets to the hottest show in town — Hamlet at the RSC.  These tickets were packaged with a meal at Othello’s, a programme signed by David Tennant and a signed Doctor Who postcard, and went for the fantastic sum of £360.

Freia Pagdin, the Hospice’s community and events fundraiser said, “it was a fantastic evening, our guests all had a marvellous time with a lovely meal and some delicious wine as well as enjoying a flutter — whilst helping to support the hospice.  Everyone was incredibly generous participating in the raffle and auction and helped us to make it such a successful night.  A big thank you to all our race sponsors, prize donors and everybody involved in the evening.”
