FEEL INSPIRED AND TAKE ON OUR OPEN WATER SWIM IN MEMORY OF SHARNE PHIPPS

Open water swimming has become incredibly popular and, with the help of a new friends of the Hospice group, ‘Love and Courage’ - a fundraising committee set up by Richard Phipps in memory of his wife, Sharne, we are able to offer our first open water swimming event.

'I am so happy that The Shakespeare Hospice has asked me to help support this event. The hospice over the last 18 months has been a constant in mine and my children's life. We first knew my wife Sharne had cancer in January 2020, which is when we first reached out to the Hospice. A month later they were there when my wife was told she had terminal cancer and they were there every step of the way at the end of my wife's very brave but short battle with cancer in August 2020. Almost a year on this amazing place is still supporting myself and my family.' Richard Phipps

Our swim will take place at Spot-On Wake, Wootton Park in beautiful rural Warwickshire near Henley-in-Arden. A 250 metre loop around the lake in tranquil surroundings make this the perfect location for our first open water swim fundraising event.

A fantastic day with distances to suit all abilities - simply choose whether you want to swim one or two loops or to challenge yourself and swim a mile in support of The Shakespeare Hospice.

We have limited places available - Register early to avoid disappointment. During registration, you will be able to choose your session time. Further information will be sent out to you closer to the event.

Your safety is paramount and we will be putting all government measures in place to ensure we can offer a Covid safe event and will continue to review and identify any guideline changes required.

A lifeguard will be in attendance and on duty at all times
