Want to donate to our shops?

Thank you for thinking of The Shakespeare Hospice for you donations. We are always looking for good quality clothing, books, bric a brac and small electricals to sell in our shops to continue helping to fund our vital community services. At the moment, we are managing a high volume of donations with fewer staff and volunteers which means we do need your help. Please think about what you donate and if you can, please bring small amounts at any one time.

Our shops are also operating new opening hours with set days for accepting donations. For our staff and volunteers this ensures we are able to process goods as safely as possible and for customers in making sure all items have been carefully quarantined, sorted and cleaned by our teams before being displayed for sale.

See below for more details about our shops and donation days.

Each shop has varying storage space and all donations are being transferred as soon as possible to bigger locations to quarantine for 48 hours. We can accept donations only on the day and time listed below and until capacity for each day has been reached.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.

Refusal of donations statement

Please understand that sometimes our staff may refuse to collect or receive a donated item if they feel that it doesn’t match the description that has been provided to us or it's not in good condition. If we can’t sell items, it will cost the hospice money to dispose of them. As we are a charity, we must ensure our costs are kept low and we remain cost effective, therefore our staff do follow strict guidelines to ensure that we only collect/receive items we are able to sell.

If we are unable to collect your items, please visit Recycle Now to find out what to do with specific items and where to recycle them.
