Donating to Our Shops

Donated items

We sell donated items in our shops to raise much needed funding for The Shakespeare hospice. In order for us to maximise the value of your donated item, would you please help us by ensuring:

  • The item your donating is in good condition, complete and works correctly
  • Each individual upholstered item has a fire label attached with a legible batch number
  • We are able to collect your item - there are some items we can’t sell for legal, safety or quality reasons – please see our list or speak to a member of staff.
  •  We offer a free collection service for furniture if you're based within our collection zone area’s. Please contact our Furniture and Homeware Shop in Stratford by email or phone 01789 205333
  • If we are unable to collect your items, please visit ‘Recycle Now’ to find out what to do with specific items and where to recycle them.

Refusal of donations statement:

Please understand that sometimes our staff may refuse to collect or receive a donated item if they feel that it doesn’t match the description that has been provided to us or it's not in good condition. If we can’t sell items, it will cost the hospice money to dispose of them. As we are a charity, we must ensure our costs are kept low and we remain cost effective, therefore our staff do follow strict guidelines to ensure that we only collect/receive items we are able to sell.
