Join The Shakespeare Hospice for the adventure of a lifetime on our Trek to Machu Picchu. This 9-day challenge takes you along the stunning and lesser-known Ancascocha Trail, covering over 50km through the spectacular Andes. Trek past snow-capped peaks, glacial rivers, and traditional Quechua villages as you make your way to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. With full support from expert local guides, porters, and cooks, you’ll experience the rich culture and natural beauty of Peru while raising vital funds for hospice care. What to expect

  • The Trek to Machu Picchu Challenge is graded as Tough. This is the perfect challenge for participants who are of an adventurous spirit and an open mind and with previous trekking experience.  You will need a good level of fitness in order to undertake this challenge. You can tell your supporters that on your Trek to Machu Picchu Challenge you will be:
  • Trekking an average of 6-8 hours per day
  • Trekking at high altitude
  • The maximum altitude reached is 4600 metres above sea level
  • Trekking through remote areas where facilities are basic
