Sir Peter Rigby

Honorary Patron of The Shakespeare Hospice

Sir Peter is the founder and Chairman of Rigby Group (RG) Plc which today consists of 100 companies in 6 principal business sectors - Information Technology, Aviation, Airports, Hotels, Commercial & Industrial Property Development, and Financial Services. The Group was founded in 1975 and is in the Top 10 largest privately-owned businesses in the UK with its prime technology company, SCC, being the largest independent IT company in Europe.

Sir Peter is a past Chairman of Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) 2011-2014; Chairman of Millennium Point Trusts 1996-2003; Trustee of the Royal Air Force Museums 2005-2010. He is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a Liveryman of the Honourable Company or Air Pilots, and an Honorary Group Captain in 601 (County of London) Squadron RAuxAF.

His charitable interests are channelled through the family charity The Rigby Foundation.

He is recognised as one of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs and was knighted for his contribution to IT and business in the Midlands in 2002.
