Safeguarding Policy

The Shakespeare Hospice is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all those it cares for. Safeguarding means protecting the health, wellbeing and human rights of adults at risk, enabling them to live safely, free from abuse and neglect. It is about people and organisations working together to prevent and reduce both the risks and experience of abuse or neglect.

Safeguarding is important for our patients and their loved ones, and anyone associated with the Hospice who can reasonably expect us to protect their privacy, dignity and right to define their own treatment.

We take our patients’ views, wishes, feelings and beliefs into consideration when we care for you.

We work together to encourage a culture that embraces diversity and respects the rights of all people.  We support the right of all to live free from abuse with respect; dignity and equality, believing that all should receive the support they need.
