Bereavement is a natural experience and grief is a normal response to death. However, for some children and young people, specialist support may be beneficial. The loss of a loved one can have a significant impact on a child's well-being, including their psychological health and educational achievement.
When the loss of a loved one is anticipated, early intervention and prompt access to services can help to build resilience and adjustment during both childhood and beyond. Together our team offer a flexible and personalised service to support each child and young person, recognising their own individual needs - as well as providing guidance for adults, including family members and teachers.
CAFSS offers the opportunity to engage with our team of experienced and qualified bereavement support practitioners and counsellors alongside trained volunteers. Our highly-skilled team help children to express themselves in whatever way is most appropriate to them, utilising a range of activities and therapies.
