What is Gift Aid?
Gift Aid is a simple way to increase the value of a donation to charity. If you are a UK taxpayer, we could claim 25p on every £1 donated from the Government - at no extra cost to you.
This means that if you donate £10, and can Gift Aid, it’s actually worth £12.50.
Gift Aid donations are regarded as having basic rate tax deducted by the donor. The Shakespeare Hospice takes your donation - which is money you’ve already paid tax on - and reclaims the basic rate tax from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on its ‘gross’ equivalent - the amount before the basic rate tax was deducted.
